November is here with our 107th edition of the MBE Business Magazine.
October leaves us, just in time to turn the clocks back as we prepare for the shorter days of sunlight for the upcoming winter months that are just around the corner. October weather wasn’t too bad. Cool mornings would lead to seasonably and sometimes mild days only to have the temperatures drop back down immediately in the evenings. Just think, only five months until spring.
Some important days for the month of November are as follows: “Spring forward, fall back". The first Sunday of November, the 3rd, marks the time when Daylight Saving Time ends, and the clocks go backward one hour at 2 a.m. (Saturday Night). This means that the days become shorter and it becomes dark earlier. The clocks won’t move forward until the 2nd Sunday of March. Remembrance Day is a day used to honour the sacrifices made by the military servicemen and women in World Wars I and II and the conflicts after that. It is observe at the 11th hour on the 11th of November every year. On this day, a two-minute silence is observed as a mark of respect for all the soldiers lost in the line of duty.
On November 14th every year, World Diabetes Day is observed to raise awareness around the globe about diabetes. It was created by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to educate people about the different types of diabetes and how they affect different ages, groups, lifestyles, and the treatment options that are available.
Nov. 29th is Black Friday which takes place on the Friday after U.S. Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday in November (the 28th). It marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season in the United States and now Canada, bringing a whirlwind of deals and discounts. Known for its highly anticipated sales, many retailers open early, offering major savings on items like electronics, clothing, and more. With its immense popularity, Black Friday has become a symbol of shopping excitement, often extending into Cyber Monday and creating a weeklong event of bargain hunting known as “Cyber Week”, giving consumers around a month to complete their holiday shopping before Christmas
